“It is always so hard to find the words that can describe our experience – because in reality, it is has been so surreal. At times, I sit back and recall the events that led me to where are I am today and think, “how did I get so lucky?” My husband and I are blessed with our three amazing daughters, and though at first it was just something that I really wanted to do, being a surrogate, I realize that it was something that I was meant to do. Being able to help a couple who wanted to have a family of their own, but couldn’t – was an honor for me and something that I hold dear to my heart and will forever!
Our entire family was so involved and supportive, embracing this wonderful, extraordinary experience. In addition, so many people that surrounded our everyday lives such as friends and co-workers, as well as my doctor and the delivery staff, not only showed support on so many levels, but are what enhanced and made this experience greater than I could have ever imagined. And that includes you Cassie!
We started this experience with open hearts and trusted that if it was something that we were destine to do, it would happen. Every step along the way, it all felt perfect and ‘right.’ Dom always supports me in amazing ways and didn’t question once why? This whole experience for both our family and the IP’s (Intended Parents) from Paris, France – was more than just a typical surrogacy story – we are family now and forever.”
I went back and forth in regards to weather to post this story in three parts or in one. I felt that all three needed to be viewed together as shown below.
The light and sunset on evening we captured Lisa’s beautiful baby belly was stunning. I made my way to their home/farm later that afternoon/early evening for a maternity mini session. Lisa was due to deliver in just a few days and was glowing. The entire family was so excited for all that was to come.
This was my first birth capture and I’m so in love. You all know I love babies so I figured it would be so 🙂 Lisa was amazing and I loved that She and Dom’s oldest two daughters were able to also be a witness to the birth of Josephine. I cannot put this birth experience into words as it is so special so I hope that the images speak for themselves.
A few weeks later I headed over to the Lake House where Jean and Herve and their little family were staying to capture everyone enjoying one another. These families are forever joined as one. It has been a blessing to be a teeny tiny part of it all.
Enjoy a glimpse into the lives of two families ~ linked together by two beautiful lives~ Gabrielle & Josephine
I remember running into Lisa a few years ago when she was carrying beautiful Gabrielle as a surrogate for the first time. As I walked away from our brief conversation remember thinking and feeling so many things. It truly is so incredibly humbling to even know this beautiful woman who knew she was destined to be a vessel for the gift of life for another family. Ironically we ran into one another in the later stages of her second pregnancy carrying sweet Josephine, Gabrielle’s little sister. I instantly asked her if I could capture this amazing moment in all of their lives. What a gift this experience has been to me. It is not something to be put into words but something to only be experienced. I can only imagine, not even really, what it has been to these two families and their extended families as well. Love is truly the only way to describe it. Thank you Lisa & Dom and also to Herve and Jean for inviting me into your lives and allowing me to be a witness to this incredible experience and to all of your unconditional love!
Câlins et bisous(Hugs & Kisses)
