Colt’s Newborn Session
Colt’s Newborn Session
” This little boy came literally into the world like a little pistol. Colt, arrived at 36 in-a-half weeks gestation. After arriving to the hospital, an hour later, my water broke…..little did anyone expect Colt to be entering the world on his terms, within 8 minutes actually. No IV, no epidural, no pain medication, and no OB doctor to help assist with the delivery. The ER physician had to rush up to the room, and just as he was growning up; all 7 pounds of Colt decided to make his appearance, onto the table he came, no one to catch him, just like he was saying ‘ready or not here I come’. He truly is our little pistol. Blazing into the world on his terms, when he wanted, whether anyone was ready or not.
Two weeks went by and after getting acclimated at home with a newborn and Toddler. I was researching newborn sessions and was able to find CRG Photography. Cassie was wonderful and gave tips to help prepare Colt for the photo session. He was 5 weeks old for his “newborn session”. Her biggest and oldest baby for ‘newborn’ photography so far. Cassie and Colt did wonderful together!!! (and the help of Cassie’s assistant Marley too.) Cassie was even able to take extra time to incorporate some items from Colt’s nursery like the wooden toy figurines given to him by his Great-Grandmother, his Daddy’s coyote pelt that’s also in his nursery, and his Papa’s deer hunting antlers. Just taking the time to add personal touches to make each session its’ own and unique story is something that Cassie does wonderfully. Watching her take photos of Colt, and working with him, posing him, getting him ready for his next theme, I couldn’t help but smile. To have pictures that will last a lifetime will be something I will cherish forever and means so much to me. It really helped that Colt was sleeping like a champ throughout most of his session. Colt’s older brother, Wyatt, was able to join in at the end of the session; The one picture that she was able to capture, Wyatt laughing loudly and Colt sleeping. Again I had to smile and chuckle a little. I smile thinking about this one simple moment in time, how perfect it was and Cassie was able to quickly snap it forever. I Chuckle because this is just the start of one brother ignoring the other while he was being loud and trying to sleep. ;-)”
